Children and Youth Ministry

At Christ Church, we believe children and youth are an important part of our church community. We walk alongside families as children and young people grow in faith, ask questions, wonder about God, and discover what it means to live out God’s love.

Our hope is that every child and youth knows they are known, loved, and belong. Through worship, faith formation, service, and discipleship, we create space for young people to grow in their relationship with God–and with one another–and share God’s love into the world.

Worship

Worship at Christ Church is for everyone! Families are always welcome to worship during any of our church services. We offer a Prayground located upfront with books, worship materials, crafts, blocks and prayer stations for all ages. Children’s bulletins are always available as well as “I am Beloved” pew activity bags.

Sundays at 10:00 AM
Children and youth formation takes place on Sundays. Children and youth are welcome to join us for the 10:00 a.m. worship service. During the service, children in 4K–5th grade are invited to Clare’s Cottage for a story and time of reflection before returning to church to join their families for Holy Communion. Youth in 6th–12th grades are invited to sit together as a youth group or worship with their families. Following worship, youth gather bimonthly in the Youth Lounge at Clare’s Cottage for fellowship, discussion, and faith formation.   worship service. Children’s Formation

Sundays | Clare's Cottage

Join us on Sunday mornings as we explore faith through story, wonder, reflection, and play. During worship, children in 4K–5th grade begin in church with their families and are then invited to Clare’s Cottage story, wonder and reflection. At Christ Church, we use Godly Play–a Montessori-inspired Christian spiritual formation program that helps children explore their faith through storytelling, wonder, and play. Children return to church in time to join the church community for Holy Communion.

Throughout the year, children also have opportunities to gather beyond Sunday mornings through seasonal celebrations, special events, family gatherings, and Diocese-wide children’s events. These are joyful opportunities for children to build friendships, grow in faith, serve others, and experience the wider Episcopal Church community.

Youth Group

Youth Group (6th-12th grades) meets bimonthly on Sundays in the Youth Lounge at Clare’s Cottage. Together, the group dives into the week’s Gospel, shares snacks and sodas, prays, ask questions, reflects and enjoys time together in fellowship. The YouthLounge has a reflection shelf with resources created to help youth explore faith, Episcopal identity, and their connection to themselves, God, and one another. Throughout the year, we’ll also gather for special events, service opportunities, and adventures as we continue to grow in faith and community.

Throughout the year, youth have opportunities to gather beyond Sunday mornings through youth group events but also Diocese-wide opportunities such as: retreats, events, mentorship programs, service days, and summer pilgrimages. These experiences give young people the chance to grow in faith, discover their gifts, build meaningful relationships with other Episcopal youth, and experience the larger community of the Episcopal Church.

Our Children’s Ministry team includes both dedicated volunteers and trained staff who create safe, nurturing, and joy-filled experiences for every child. Christ Church maintains low caregiver-to-child ratios, and all team members complete a background check and Safeguarding God’s Children training to ensure a secure environment for all.
